introduction
scope
This form is complementary to other documentation used in the purchase process of production equipment. The questionnarie covers questions regarding tooling, (cutting tools, tool holding and machining issues).
AIM
Together with the machine supplier and/ or cutting tool supplier, specify a specification for the tooling issues.
By working in this way, we want to take advantage of the suppliers and customer’s knowledge and experience, permit a dialogue on technical development and agree on a solution which provides operational reliability.
APPLICATION
The questionnaire shall be filled in by the supplier and returned together with the offer.
The questionnaire must have been approved by the customer and the supplier before any purchase.
Any additions or changes shall be approved by the customer and the supplier.
The questionnaire will be used as a check-list later on during the process of work.
HOW TO FILL IN QUESTIONNAIRE
Answer the questions by crossing the correct alternative, if further explanation is needed complete with text in the “note field”.
If there are questions that are non-applicable; leave the alternatives empty and mark the box to the right (N/A).

4 Equipment requirements
4.1 Mechanical design
4.1.1
Machine Layout
A machine layout must be enclosed with the quotation. The different
stations are to be specified where appropriate.
The layout has to show kind of connection points for media, what
the demands are for the equipment regarding pressures, flows,
volumes, powers, fuses or what might be appropriate.
Attention has been given to what already exists such as pillars, shuts
for chips, roller conveyors, etc.
Transport aisles are to be kept free.
A specification of the static and dynamic floor load has to be
enclosed with the quotation.
For fenced areas: all important machine areas should be accessible
through a suitable amount of entrances.
Equipment shall be protected against forklifts or other industrial
vehicle collisions, where relevant
4.1.2
Machine design
There has to be enough space for maintenance work, cleaning,
preventive maintenance, exchange of tools etc. in and around the
machine.
It has to be possible to fasten the balance compound mechanically
in its upper position, when counterweights or any other balance
compound is used in pieces of equipment, e.g. in a vertical
machining unit.
In a vertical conveyor, there has to be possibility to fasten the carrier
mechanically in different positions.
Vertical axis have to be equipped with weight equalizing functions
e.g. balance cylinders or counterweights. The demand refers to units
with a total mass above 150 kg. The demands on unit with a mass of
150 kg or less are to be discussed with Aurobay/VCPC.
Vertical axis must be considered as a safety related part se
paragraph 2.2.1
Use of pneumatic components in the equipment shall be decided
based on the balance between functionality requirements and life-
cycle cost.
Identification marking for gas, liquid and ventilating installations see
Appendix E, Reliability_and_Maintainability_Requirements.

The demands in paragraph 4.3.2.1 is checked visually and/ or if
necessary measured in an appropriate way.
Process alarms /monitoring functions:
All alarm and monitoring functions that are present must be tested
to verify their function.
The tests are made separate from the production run in paragraph
4.3.1 by creating the conditions that should trigger an alarm and
then check that the correct alarm is really triggered.
Examples:
*If there is an alarm that should react if a press force during an
assembly is too low some parts have to be manipulated to give too
low press force.
*If there is an alarm that should react if the wrong part number is
loaded the test is made by loading the wrong part and starting the
cycle.
*If there is an alarm that should react if the parts are not correctly
clamped during processing –then the clamping must be
manipulated for example with shims between the part and the
clamping points to simulate wrong alignment.
The detailed function and testing procedure for these alarms should
be described more in detail in the "Functional description" and
"Functional test". See chapter Functional description in this
document.
4.3.2.3
Test occasions
The test is carried out two times –in the Test before shipment and in
the Taking-over test after installation at the Aurobay/VCPC plant.
Approved results must be achieved before Shipment and Taking
over can take place.
4.4 Questionnaires
4.4.1
The purpose of the questionnaires
The questionnaires aim to take care of the mutual knowledge and
experience of the supplier and Aurobay/VCPC.
They also create a possibility for a dialogue about technical
development in order to reach an optimal pricing, safe and reliable
solution.
Completed and approved questionnaires are part of the contract.

Execution and dialogue
The questionnaires are to be reviewed jointly by the supplier and
Aurobay/VCPC engineers at three occasions:
‒
Before purchase
‒

6 Training and Education
6.1 General
The supplier has to specify the training needed to run the
equipment.
Education and training material must be in the Local language.
The training has to be split in
‒
Maintenance staff (specified for both mechanical and
electrical)
‒
Operators
If possible, the training should be split up in three phases:
1.
Start-up Training
Training connected to Test before shipment
2. Main Training
Training connected to Taking-over test
3. Follow up Training
Follow up training 6 month after Job 1
The training should generally include:
‒
A description of the connection to existing systems and how
these are working together with the supply. (interaction)
‒
Explanation of the working principles
‒
Explanation of safety items and emergency stops etc.
‒
Demonstration and hands-on training on how to operate the
systems
‒
Presentation of sufficient equipment documentation
‒
Trouble shooting
‒
Demonstration and practice on how to maintain all supplied
systems.
6.2 Training categories
Basically the training should be adapted and addressed to the
following categories:
1.
Operators (handling of the systems and basic trouble
shooting, etc.)
2. Maintenance personal, see education for operators and then
advanced levels (advanced trouble shooting, change of
spare parts, repair work, scheduled maintenance, calibration
etc. including all mechanical, electrical and computer parts
of the systems).
3. Supervisors (understand the working principles and
possibilities, overview and general description of the supply)
4. Specialist training if identified and needed.

7 Delivery and installation
Delivery implies that all tests agreed upon have been carried out and
that Aurobay/VCPC has agreed delivery.
7.1 Delivery units
Measurements and weights of the units, in which the equipment will
be delivered, have to be forwarded to Aurobay/VCPC latest 2 weeks
before shipping.
7.2 Shipping
The order has to specify if the supplier or Aurobay/VCPC is
responsible for the transport. If this is not handled in contract
Appendix D.
7.3 Installation
Where work permits are necessary, the supplier has to, latest two
months prior to the start of the installation, issue information about
assembly personnel, category and number. The responsibility that
necessary work permits exist lies with the supplier.
Aurobay/VCPC has to be informed as which subcontractor(s) the
supplier intends to use and the supplier has to obtain approval from
Aurobay/VCPC to engage this/these.
At AZJK (Aurobay Zhangjiakou) the supplier should finish HSES
training and follow contractor safety process when working in the
plant.
At ASDE (Aurobay Skövde)/VCPC the supplier must secure that all
their workers have completed the SSG training and follow health
and safety regulations.
Aurobay/VCPC will provide the needed lifting devices and is
responsible for the connecting of the equipment to media.
The supplier has to provide a set out layout showing all necessary
measurements and the references which has to be marked on the
ground to position the machines. The measurements have to be set
according to the origin, provided by Aurobay/VCPC in the line/shop
layout.
Aurobay/VCPC is responsible to perform the set out and marking, if
no other agreed.

Aim
The aim is that together with the machine supplier establish a specification for the mechanical equipment of the machine.
By working in this way we want to take advantage of the supplier’s and the purchaser’s knowledge and experience, permit a dialogue on technical development, and come to an agreement on a solution with high personal safety and operational reliability.
Application
The questionnaire shall be filled in by the supplier and returned together with the offer.
The questionnaire must have been approved by the purchaser and the supplier before any purchase.
Any additions or changes shall be approved by the purchaser and supplier.
How to fill in the questionnaire
